Refractory
Chromium oxides have numerous applications in the refractory industry, including:
- Shaped and ground bricks from virtually pure Cr2O3 which are used in glass furnaces.
- Shaped bricks made from mixtures of aluminum oxide and chromium oxide for use in the steel industry.
- Fusion-cast refractory bricks based on oxidic systems (ZrO2, SiO2, Al2O3, MgO and Cr2O3) for use in the glass industry and sectors of the chemical industry.
- Binder-containing stamping masses made from various oxidic mixtures (Al2O3, SiO2, MgO) for the lining of equipment used for metal and glass melts.
Because unlike alternative refractory’s, chrome oxide bricks can be used for up to 10 years, they are very cost effective in the long run.
_Bayoxide® C GN-R has established itself in the refractory industry and stands out from competing products because of its unique morphological and surface chemistry properties, which allow the manufacture of very high density green bodies.
